Here is a list of our most frequently asked questions.
What clothing should I wear when attending one of your classes?
If you are attending a dance class then dress casual and wear lightweight clothing. If you are attending a Zumba class then you cold wear a track suit or casual clothing.
What type of footwear should I wear?
You should not wear, stilettos or sandals as these can be dangerous when learning to dance. For the dance classes you should wear a smooth soled shoe that enables you to turn on the dance floor. Trainers tend to grip and the top half of your body will turn but the bottom half will not so you could damage your knees.
For the Zumba trainers are fine as this is more of a keep fit class and there are not the same amount of turns as there are in a dance class.
Do I have to register with you before I come?
No you can just turn up but if it is a new class then we reccomend you come 15 minutes early as we will ask you to fill out a registration card as we hold a register of the attendees in case we have to do a fire drill.
Are there many people in the class?
This is a difficult question to answer, until after the first class as many people just turn up without us having prior knowledge.
What age group attend your classes?
Generally speaking our dancers tend to be aged between 20 and 80 years of age as our classes are late evening. We do get asked if children can come along and we say as long as they are accompanied by an adult and aged between 9 and 16 years of age. We do not allow anyone under age 8years.
Is there any parking at your venues?
Yes there is parking right outside the door. If you attend the Desmond Anderson school there is even an overflow car park staggered opposite the entrance to the main car park.
How much do the classes cost?
We charge £6.50 for one class or you can save £1.50 a class if you pay for 4 classes in advance.
What is Modern Line?
There is a full explanation of this on our Linedance Krazy page. In short we dance to pop musi, use Ballroom and Latin styling in the dances and it is not at all like Country and Western Dancing.
What is Salsa Solo?
After years of teaching Line dance we decided to teach Salsa to people in a line. Many people do not have a partner or their partner does not wish to learn to dance so this is a way of learning the authentic steps without a partner. We hope to have a video up soon on our web site to show you an absolute beginner class learning Salsa Solo.
What is Zumba?
Zumba is a mixture of Latin dances combined with Keep fit moves. It is very new and therefore you might like to watch a video clip on our web site. Select the video link then the Zumba link.
I get bored with Keep fit, which class should I attend?
I would reccomend the line dancing as there is a never ending supply of new routines and music. We have been teaching this for 13 years and can dance an etire day without repeating the same routine twice. The modern line dance class normally progresses from a one hour class to a two hour class. Not many people would do a two hour keep fit class, but this is normal for the line dancer. The levels can progress right up to Advanced level where a lot of the routines look more like a pop group dance routine where we use street dance moves, jazz, hip hop along with all ballroom and latin dance styles.
